About This Fence Style
Ranch rail fences are available in both wood and vinyl, each offering distinct advantages for residential use. Wood delivers a natural, adaptable appearance and remains durable and visually appealing with proper care, while vinyl resists warping, fading, and rot for long-term durability with minimal maintenance and a consistently clean look.
Maintenance & Care
Maintenance varies by material. Wood picket fences should be inspected annually and re-sealed or stained every few years, with vegetation kept away from boards and hardware tightened as needed. Vinyl picket fences require minimal upkeep, periodic rinsing to remove dust or debris and occasional hardware checks.

“I am very happy with my new fence and gate. The installers worked hard to get it finished and it is perfect. Actually, two fences; my neighbors and mine were done at the same time.”
